Have you heard of Sette Neckwear? Well, the New York Post has - and they talked about it on Page Six today (see story below).
With increasing prices of pure silk, many tiemakers have resorted to the substitution of the light-weight silk and have compensated for this loss of weight by the use of a heavier cotton liner to give ties additional body. A Sette is made from over a full meter of the finest Italian silk, folded seven times (this is why they are called 7-fold ties) and eliminates the need for a lining. The objective of Sette is to manufacture the finest tie in the world; a tie that is resilient, that will hold together for life, and that will tie easily with the 'dimple' centered under the knot.

That “Good Morning America” anchor George Stephanopoulos’ yellow tie that his wife Ali Wentworth raved “popped out of the screen and smacked you across the face” is a Sette, created by former George W. Bush White House Staffer Peter Watkins who has outfitted the last three living Presidents.
